Music Box Inspiring Voices CIC Launch

🎉 What a Day! The Official Launch of Music Box – Inspiring Voices CIC 🎶
Saturday 14th June 2025 was a truly unforgettable day as we celebrated the official launch of Music Box – Inspiring Voices CIC. From 10:30am to 3:30pm, our hub came alive with joy, connection, community—and a whole lot of talent on our marquee stage.
✂️ A Star-Studded Start with Denise Pearson
A Star-Studded Start with Denise Pearson
We were honoured to welcome Denise Pearson of the legendary 80s pop group Five Star, who officially opened the event by cutting our big red ribbon – after a joyful countdown from 10!
Denise then joined our Music Box family on stage to perform a stunning rendition of “Rain or Shine,” and even surprised us with a bonus performance of “System Addict.”
Denise was everything we could have wished for and more: graceful, kind, and genuinely down-to-earth. She chatted with families, posed for photos, and brought a real sense of warmth and magic to the day.

🎤 Incredible Local Talent
Throughout the afternoon, our Music Box – Inspiring Voices choirs filled the stage with heartwarming performances, including beautiful solos from our young and adult singers.
We were blown away by a powerful freestyle performance from Rob Bradley (aka Jack Flash)—our very own rapper and the driving force behind CUT MUSIC. Rob never fails to mesmerise the crowd with his lyrical skill and presence. He’s a phenomenal talent, and it’s a privilege to work alongside him.
Next up was Leejay Wave, a talented young rapper from Bradford whose original track hit the spot with our teenage audience. With rap resonating so strongly with today’s youth, it was fantastic to have someone on stage they could connect with and be inspired by. We’ll definitely be cheering Leejay on as his journey unfolds.

🗣️ A Special Message from Christa Ackroyd
We were grateful to have Christa Ackroyd, esteemed journalist and dear friend, join us to speak about the role of music in community and wellbeing.
Christa and I have worked on several projects together, including a charity single for Street Angels, an organisation she passionately supports:

Hold Out Your Hand - Ukraine
We also revisited a past project that remains close to our hearts: a song written and performed by our young singers to raise money for Ukraine:

🎶 The Dunwells & Solow Choir – A True Gift
We were so lucky to be gifted performances by two of the most talented musical acts in West Yorkshire – The Dunwells and Solow Choir.
🎸 The Dunwells
The Dunwells are a Leeds-based, chart-topping band of brothers known for their powerful songwriting and signature harmonies. Their music has taken them around the world, but they remain passionate about inspiring the next generation – regularly visiting schools to teach young people how to write songs and speak honestly about their journey as successful, working musicians
Their performance at our launch was energetic, heartfelt, and completely unforgettable.

🎵 Solow Choir
Also joining us was the phenomenal Solow Choir, led by the brilliant Matt Dunwell.
Their vocal blend, creative arrangements, and raw emotional connection left everyone feeling inspired. What made it even more special was that our grown-up Music Box choir got the chance to join in with them on stage.
We absolutely adore Matt—his leadership, his artistry, and his ability to bring people together through song is second to none.

🧠 Mental Health Matters – Honouring Hope
As a huge advocate for the power of music and mental health, it was an absolute honour to welcome Steve Phillip and his beautiful wife Laurence from The Jordan Legacy, along with Anna Scott and Roger Cunliffe, representatives from The Baton of Hope.
Both Steve and Anna took to the stage to speak about suicide prevention, sharing a powerful reminder that suicide is everyone’s business.
Anna also shared details of the upcoming Baton of Hope event taking place later this year and how people can get involved.

⚽ Fun, Games & Community Spirit
As well as a full day of live music, we were thrilled to have Future Football running games for the kids all afternoon. Set up by the brilliant Joe and Jude, both just 16 years old, their football coaching sessions are already making waves in the community.
They run every Tuesday at Guiseley FC from 4–5pm, and their natural ability to engage, inspire and support young people is second to none. We’re proud to support their journey every step of the way.

We also had…
🍭 A buzzing sweet stall run by Lucas, Camero, and Lincoln
✨ Frances’ stall full of beautiful handmade trinkets
🍦 An ice cream van to cool us down
🎈 A bouncy castle for endless giggles
🍬 Candy floss for the young (and young at heart!)
🍔 And of course, mouth-watering food from the fabulous Scoffs
And a huge shout out to RSJ Building Contractors!
